The excitement continues

Although our season will come to an end soon, the fun doesn't have to. Two upcoming parties have added the Business Time team to their VIP lists.

First, Alistair Tutton and Springboard Creative are having a party at the Vox Theatre July 2 (your first free Thursday evening!).

To wrap up the season, we'll have a Leisure League party on July 16th. Details still to come, but it will be a free event so pencil it in your calendars.

Tournament Thursday 6/25

The league has cast their vote and we'll be playing in this week's championship tournament. There will be 3 rounds of play in this single-elimination structure. We need all hands on deck- so please add a comment below with your name, and let us know if you'll be able to make it. See you there!

Tournament Time

How would you like to structure our tournament? Choose for # 1, 2, or 3 by Monday 6/15 5pm. Add comment below. I will vote with the majority on behalf of the team.

Option 1 (2 night tournament June 25 and July 2): All 8 teams play the first round of the tournament at 6pm and 7:15pm on June 25. And then the 4 remaining teams play at 6pm on July 2 and the final two teams play after that at 7:15pm on July 2.

Option 2 (1 night tournament July 2): in order to get all games in before dark, in the first round of tournament play games would only last 4 innings with 4 teams playing at 6pm and the other 4 teams playing at 6:40pm. Then the 4 winning teams would play at 7:15pm followed by the championship game at 8:15pm.

Option 3 (1 night tournament June 25): Same as option 2, but we'd move the tournament up one week (into the rainout slot) so that we wouldn't have a conflict with 4th of July weekend plans.

Couple of things to add. If next the 6/18 games get rained out and moved to June 25, then Option 2 is the only way to go. And the other comment is, if we go with the tournament being all in 1 night, all teams could cookout and stay to watch whomever plays in the championship game.

Can you play the double-header 6/18?

Please let us know if you can or cannot play next week. Two big games back to back! Leave a comment below with your name. Thanks!

Can you attend 5/14 6-8:15pm?

Hello Business Time,
We have a bye-week 5/14, so we won’t be playing. However, we will still be getting together at Gillham Park from 5:45-8:15pm for several good reasons:

Reason #1, we need a little bit of practice. Our offense needs some help. Wear your kickball shoes.

Reason #2, our team is responsible for providing 2 refs for each of the 4 games taking place that night. We need a total of 8 volunteers who have a decent handle on the rules. You can brush up by reviewing the rules posted on the blog.

Reason #3, spectate, grill, enjoy a concealed beverage and some team bonding.

Reason #4, so we can still go to Brooksider after the games.

Please leave a comment below on two things by tomorrow, Wednesday at 6pm-
A. Can you attend? B. Can you ref one game? Thanks!

Game ON!

We will be playing tonight at 6pm. We have one game this evening. Our games last one hour. Please arrive to the field by 5:45 sporting your snazzy new shirts! They were delivered to everyone's personal MBB office today, so if you are not a Mullerite, your significant other will (hopefully remember to) bring one to you! See you tonight.

If you have any questions, you can call me 913.485.7800 or Jon 913.219.9121.

Mother Nature

Our league Commissioner, Amy Young, is keeping a close eye on the weather today for tonight's games. Clearly, it's raining across the metro this morning. If it stops within the next hour or two, we will attempt to play in the grass rather than the dirt fields. We should have a ruling by 4pm this afternoon. Stay tuned!

Can you play 5/7 at 6pm?

Please leave a comment below letting us know whether you can play or not. If you can attend, can you pitch?

Thanks!

Team Practice

Some of our league will be holding practices before the season begins, May 7th. Club Foot will be holding practice at Brooksider Thursday, April 30 and they have challenged us to a scrimmage.

May 7th is around the corner

Our first game will be Thursday, May 7th, just two weeks away. It's come to our attention that AdWars is also going on that evening, and is presenting some time conflicts for some teams in our league. If any of you are planning to attend AdWars, please add a comment here and Amy Young is looking into options. Thanks!

T-shirts due 4/16

Bring your black, cotton t-shirt to my office by Thursday 4/16. The deadline was today, but no one has turned one in! Any style, any size you like. Remember to label them with your name using masking tape. You have until Thursday becasue Tasha has to order supplies and start hand printing. She is only making one round of these, so if you don't have it in by Thursday, you will wear a plain black t-shirt for the entire season. And you won't look cool.

Schedule

Amy Young, our league organizer, has been hard at work on schedules. The exciting part is that for the first time this year, each team will have a bye-week. That Thursday, we are all welcome to come have a bbq, hang out and spectate. This is also when we'll need volunteers from Business Time to ref the other two games.

All games are at 6 and 7:15. We have an equal split of game start times through the season.

The competition

We have eight teams competing in our league this year. Here is a list of teams, captains, colors and where they hail from.

Captain, Company, Color
Stephanie and Jon, MBB Black
Jason, BR Orange
Matt D BR 2 Blue
Casey Colormark Green
Jaime RW2 White
Gabe Hopkins Photog, Grey
Marisa Ad Farm Red
Matthew Collins Photog, Gold

We have a team name

Thank you to everyone that voted here on our new team blog. Our team name will be "Business Time". If you'd like to know more about its origins, watch this informative video.
